The UDC-3400 series is a state-of-the-art family of VME-compatible,high-resolution, bit-mapped display controllers, supporting 60-Hz,noninterlaced monitors. UDC-3400 can display 16.8 million colors withtwo bits of graphic overlay and is ideally suited for applicationsrequiring full-color, real-life images with graphic overlay, such asmedical imaging, publishing animation, and surveillance.By using the Intel 82786 display controller and video RAM memory, fastoperation such as polygon, line drawing, bit-block copies, and multifonttext can be achieved. The memory is dual-ported, thus facilitating fasthost access. For very high-performance applications, a connector providesan external VSB standard bus interface to the optional UPX-1, 32-bitcoprocessor, or array processor. The open architecture of the UDC-3400bus makes it easy to expand a system to meet unique requirements.Initialization and diagnostic software is provided. A graphics C libraryis optional. The board occupies a single slot in the VMEbus workstationand interfaces to any 64 kHz color monitor.
